His journey began while working his way through college at several leading funeral homes in Kansas. Living on-site and assisting with removals, visitations, and services gave him firsthand insight into the dedication funeral professionals bring to the families they serve.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Kansas State University in 1995, Matt spent two years in public accounting and seven years in professional sales with a Fortune 100 company. In 2004, he transitioned into small business financing with a focus on funeral home acquisitions — a niche he has remained dedicated to ever since.

Matt has worked on hundreds of funeral home transactions, bringing deep industry knowledge and a client-first approach to every deal. In 2005, he founded 4BSF.com with the mission of educating funeral directors on how to buy, sell, and finance funeral homes. His expertise includes SBA and conventional loan structuring, business valuations, and ensuring competitive rates with minimal transaction fees.
